Questions we hear
How do I know you're licensed?
The footer on every page shows our state license line, and the state's licensing office lets you look it up.
Will I get a price before you start?
Yes, in writing. If we find something new once work is open, we stop and quote it before we go on.
What does a visit cost and include?
A flush visit is on the Flush plan page with what it covers and how the plan is billed. For installs, the estimate lists what's included and what isn't.
Do you work nights and weekends?
We work Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings, as the hours show. We don't answer after hours, and we don't have a night rate.
How long does a flush take?
It depends on the heater and how much scale there is. We tell you when we book, and we leave a note of what we found.
How long does an install take?
Most are done in a day. A larger gas line or a new vent path can add time, and the estimate says so.
Do you pull permits?
Yes, where the work needs one. The permit and the inspection are listed on the estimate.
Should I repair or replace my water heater?
If it's scaled but sound, a flush comes first. If a part has failed or the unit is old, we show you both prices and you choose.
Is my house at risk for lead, galvanized or polybutylene pipe?
Homes built before 1986 may have lead solder, and some homes built between the 1970s and mid-1990s have polybutylene pipe. If you're unsure, ask us to look at your pipe when we're there; the EPA's lead pages explain what to test.
What does the Flush plan cover?
One descaling visit a year for one heater, with the check and a written note. It does not cover repairs, parts or a second heater, and it isn't insurance.
What does the work come with?
Our written estimate lists the terms for labor and parts, and the heater maker's own terms apply to the unit. Ask for them before you say yes.
Is the problem in the heater or the main line?
If hot water is weak at one fixture only, the cause is usually at that fixture. If it's weak everywhere, we start at the heater and its flow.
What does the descaling solution do?
It dissolves mineral scale inside the heat exchanger so the rinse carries it out. We use a product made for water heaters and follow its label.
Where do you work, and when?
Rio Rancho, Corrales, Bernalillo, Placitas, Algodones and parts of Albuquerque, Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. See the service area on the home page.
